Emotional Related Difficulties

Emotional regulation is a skill. It is not inherited, but rather it is taught. When a feeling of anger goes uncontrolled and results in an outburst that affects you and those around you in a negative way, you may feel ‘out of control’. On the other hand, if you are constantly faced with tasks of caring for others and feel unable to take time to yourself, you may push down your feelings of anger or sadness until you’re left feeling ‘burnt out’. 

Whether you are struggling with outbursts, compassion fatigue, or general feelings of emotional disregulation, our trained counsellors can meet you where you are at and teach you skills that will put you back into the driver’s seat. Some services to ask your counsellor about include: 

  • Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT).

  • Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (MCBT),

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
