Individual Counselling

Individual Counselling?

Life can be complicated, there are times when we feel overwhelmed, hopeless or unhappy about issues in our life. Individual counselling is an opportunity for you to work one-on-one with a certified counsellor in a safe and confidential space (either in person or virtually). During this time you can work through your current or past challenges and have the ability to explore yourself, your needs, and ways in which you engage in the world.

Individual counselling is about you and tailored to your needs. This joint process and can be described as a journey with a caring, non-judgmental guide walking with you to help you navigate the path towards hope and healing. Your counsellor will create a healing space where you feel heard, seen, understood, and ultimately validated. The beauty of individual therapy is that it’s only necessary for as long as it’s necessary. Some seek individual therapy as a means of exploring their present-day struggles in light of their personal history to find causes and a deeper level of understanding. Some just need a supportive “sounding board” or someone on the outside of a situation to find ways to cope. While others may have already done the work to get to the place they want to be and just want to come in for a “tune up” or “maintenance,” the choice is yours! At Reflective Soul Counselling we are there to help our clients find the peace of mind they are looking for. Regardless of where you live, we offer in-person counselling and psychotherapy services located in Kelowna, BC, or virtual sessions online.

Key Steps for the Client to achieve success

  1. Willingness – Clients must be willing to seek and attend counselling. This involves the need to move out of your comfort zone and engage in new thinking patterns and behaviours.

  2. Motivation – Being willing to make changes and engaging in those changes on an ongoing basis. This is where the real work begins.

  3. Commitment – While you may be motivated, change will not happen with out continued practice and commitment. Commitment may be a series of repeating decisions and moving forward.

  4. Faith – Clients need to have faith in themselves, the counsellor and the process. Taking the first step to begin counselling and continue with it requires belief that it can be successful.
